Ok, so apparently I like videos too much. They take up lots and lots of space, and we haven't confirmed it, but it seems like we've filled our capacity on this blog for all the the many videos we post. But I just can't stop posting them, because there is just too much family that needs to see how cute this little man of ours is. And I can't bring myself to delete any posts just yet. So I have solved this problem by starting a new blog. It is one number off of this blog.

7 Months Old!!!

James has grown up so much in the last 7 months. He is quite a delightful baby, and has really funny likes. He loves paper, loves fabric (especially playing peekaboo with it over his face) and he loves looking at the world upside down. Who could have guessed :D The funniest thing is that as a tall boy he is already growing accustom to not fitting in his bed. Despite the fact that he still has room to grow in lengthwise in the bed he continues to wiggle and sleep sideways with his head squashed up against one side, and he feet sticking out the other. He loves peekaboo, any kind of food, and is getting continuously more protective of his toys. Don't take one away from him if you don't want a meltdown. He loves remotes, cell phones and if we let him keyboards. He can now sit up all on his own, but isn't interested in crawling. Not yet at least, for now he can usually get what he wants with all his babbling chatter, who needs to crawl when you have a willing Mom at your beck and call. :D Hope you like these as much as I do. :D

Hair Cut

Usually I just post pix of James, but I thought I would share my drastic change to my own appearance yesterday. Cory was nice enough to let me go out and cut my hair yesterday while he was home watching James. Last week with all the air pollution in the valley was a rough week on James and I since we didn't go out much. We were blessed to be able to see Nana and Pupa and Aunt Tracie for the weekend though, and we enjoyed that very much. But since not much else is changing for a few months I needed something new and chopped off my long hair. I'm still getting used to it, since I haven't ever cut my hair this short, but I like it a lot (despite my serious face in the pic :D ).

This is James' new way of expressing himself. All day today James was pretending to be a pirate (or at least that is what it looked like to us) and apparently baby pirates really like apples. Who knew.

SnowMan on New Year's

We spent a little of our New Year's Day building a snowman for James. He liked it, but I'm sure he will love it more in the future. We also finally got a family picture, and you can see that James smiles better for the camera when I'm behind it smiling at him. Without anyone there he doesn't quite get it. :D Enjoy!

My first Novel

Ok, I'm just kidding about the novel part. I just read all of my friends blogs and they post way more text than Cory and I do. Understandably we post mostly pictures. We do have a few new ones to post, but since I am at work, and it is really slow, and all the pictures are at home I thought I would just give a quick update on what's going on. We had a great Christmas. We were able to drive to Idaho Falls, with a quick stop in Logan both ways so James got to see all of his Grandparents for his first Christmas.
I really think James loved Christmas, mostly for all the attention he got. The week before James finally started sitting up on his own. I was a little worried initially that it was taking him so long, but our Dr. didn't seem concerned since he is advanced in his vocal skills for his age, and all kids learn differently. Now that he is sitting up he hates doing anything else, and has already started developing the core strength to pull himself up to a sitting position. He is so close :D
The biggest development though over Christmas was James is getting his first tooth! It started crowning Christmas Eve! Once it is in enough to get a picture I will, but right now it wouldn't look like much. We were so blessed though, because even though he was teething he was only midly cranky. Which was a lot for his sweet little personality, but compared to some he was an angel. I really hope all of his teeth come in so easy. We'll see.
As for presents we were all really blessed, and James made out like a bandit. That's what he gets for being so cute. We are all really happy to be home now, and preparing for the new semester for Daddy. And buckling down for the rest of the winter without so many trips and no car. For now we are optomistic. Happy Holidays to all and a Happy New Year!

James has started experimenting with sounds and has learned his mama sound. Cory is convinced it is his first word. Whereas I'm not as convinced that that is what this is, it still makes me happy that he is getting close and I love to hear it, even though it usually sound really whinny :D

BathTime Splashes

Daddy caught these cute little splashes in the tub today. Don't worry he was careful to not make it embarrassing in the future for our little boy. It just shows how long he is that he can sit in his little bath chair and his feet hang off so far. Someday soon he will be sitting up in the bath. I can't wait 'cause then he'll be splashing with his hands and playing, and just having so much fun. For now he enjoys trying to get Mommy and Daddy wet this way :D Oh and Cory said he was splashing a lot more before the camera came out. Isn't that always how it is ;)

Baseball Boy

James is getting so good at grabbing things. We love to play games with him, and try all sorts of new things. Daddy put the baseball cap on James the other night in spirit of the outfit he was wearing and we just had to catch what he was doing on film. Enjoy!

New pix and a New Hair Cut

So yesterday I finally tried to cut James' hair myself. Cory had attempted to trim it a week ago, and it didn't really work. I was cocky and thought I could do better so with the scissors in hand tried to trim his longest hairs, and it started to look ten times worse than what Cory had tried. So I decided that scissors weren't good enough and we would have to try the razer/hairtrimmer thingy Cory has. James did really well. He sat in his high chair while I did it, and still looked around, but wasn't scared at all. It still isn't as even as I could have hoped but he wiggled a lot, but he's not as shaggy as he was. :D

Then this morning I thought we should take pictures of his new haircut, and it was just so much fun. He is at such an expressive age, I couldn't help but post a lot of pix. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. :D

Halloween

It was James' first Halloween. Because he is a crazy baby, and goes to bed at 7 every night he sort of missed getting in his costume on Halloween, and ended up putting it on the next day just for pictures. Isn't he cute. He is on Aunt Tracie's lap. Overall our trip to Idaho Falls was fun. Chaotic for a little boy who lives a very quiet life, but he did really well, and I think he enjoyed family and had fun with his cousins. However, car rides are not his thing. Everyone says baby's love cars and will sleep through most of the trip. Not my son. First of all I think he has really sensitive ears, because he cried going over Malad pass both times. He doesn't go to sleep by himself yet, so every time he got tired he screamed and screamed and screamed. Then We got stuck in traffic caused by an accident near Clearfield, so I took him out of his carseat while we were stopped, and he was fine, I went to put him back in once we started moving and he screamed bloody murder until he fell asleep a half an hour later. Of which he slept until we were five miles from home and got stopped again by another accident, which I took him out and fed him for a third time. This was now an hour past his normal bedtime, and he was cranky. Once we got home he just kicked and giggled so happy to be out of his carseat. I think people are so lucky who have babies who will sleep in cars. Mine as of now hates it. But he is still adorable, and I think still loved spending time with family. However we do need a Star Trek transporter the next time we intend to travel. :D

Rice Cereal!

James got his first taste of solid food! I'm hoping it will help him sleep through the night, because he loves to eat. As you can see from the video James really loves food. He did a lot better than we expected him too, though we are suspicious that he thinks the spoon is like the bottle and food just appears out of it. I think that overall solid food will come easy to this hungry boy.

p.s. We had pizza tonight, and after he finished all of his rice he reached out for the pizza in Cory's hand. We're gonna have a hard time keeping food from him :D

Fall Fun!

Today we went out and spent some time in the park across the street from our apartment. James loves the leaves he likes to crunch them and eat them, and we just learned how much he likes to kick in them. Enjoy!

We just had our 4m check up today and James is a whopping 17lbs 1.5 oz. He is 27 inches long and is continuing to take after his Dad in growth and height. All in all he is healthy and developing right on schedule. We get to start rice cereal and will video one of his first times, so we can post. For now here is his adorable face.

Talk about crazy. My sister and her kids came down today and visited for a few hours. It was so much fun to have them here, and see baby Kenzi. She was born Aug 30th while James was born June 16th, so only two and a half months apart. James has grown like a monster, and it shows in this picture. I've completely lost sight of how abnormal it is for him to be this big. It's just what I'm used to every day. Enjoy!

This video shows how cute they are together. Since they were born so close together we are convinced that they hung out in heaven together, and they contently laid next to each other for quite a few minutes. Though watch out Kenzi James might eat you! :D

Kids Crazy Kids... This is all five of Nana's grand-babies together, though as you can see they are not all babies. We had to take them fast because James was tired and was getting fussy. It was a crazy day with all of them in our little apartment, but it was so much fun!

Sunday Clothes

So we got this darling little outfit through one of Cory's friends from the grounds crew. He had been airing my complaint that little girls have a million times more things they can wear to church that is appropriate, but it is so hard to find church clothes for baby boys. She said something to her mom and then a few weeks later this adorable little outfit showed up in the mail that her Mom had found on some clearance rack. I didn't think James would fit it until Christmas, but he is growing so fast that it fits him now. I put it on this morning and just died with how cute it was. So I made Cory take the pic with both of them in their vests. I love it, now I've just got to keep him from growing out of it :D jk.

P.s. James was very tired before church as you can see in these pictures, but I strive for that each Sunday so he will sleep through Relief Society and part of Sunday School.

Crazy Baby!

So James has given up on rolling over from his belly. He now hates his belly and screams every time I put him there. Alas he has forgotten that trick. But this is his new trick, and it makes him very happy. Even though he only makes it halfway there, I'm waiting for the day he actually rolls over and realizes that all it did was put him on his belly which he hates. But I do think he is super anxious to move on his own, because he's started watching my feet now as I carry him places. So we will continue to encourage him to strengthen his muscles and learn new tricks :D

Introducing the Singing James!

So I sing to James... a LOT. Mostly because it calms him down when I'm trying to get something done, and I'm not holding him. But we play a lot together too. This little diddy we just learned last week at the Provo City Library's "Book Babies" (storytime for babies). We went with our friends Becky and Levi. James is very clever and has started singing with me. Today we caught it on film. Enjoy!

Poor James. He's begun wiggling a lot in his sleep, and sometimes I will wake up and his head will be right up against the crib bars. This morning Daddy woke up and found him hanging out all together. Don't worry he was just fine, and it didn't wake him up at all, even to move him. Crazy cute baby.

So this is James' first football game. He did seem to be cheering along till we got the camera out, so this doesn't show his reaction near as much, but he did seem very curious with it. We didn't end up watching the whole game, but he has begun to have his first few tastes of it.

Internet at Home!

We finally have the internet at home. It was sort of forced upon us by the complex (meaning they raised the rent). But I will enjoy it since I'm now graduated and am definitely not at school every day online anymore. I'm so glad to have it at home and be able to update the blog whenever he is sleeping or just quietly playing. Due to it being so long I have updated 8 times today, filling you in on all of the events of the last month and a half. ENJOY!

Rattle game with Daddy!

Daddy filmed this little game yesterday. It marks intentional smacking of the rattles. James has been hitting them for weeks now, but we haven't been sure how intentional/controlled it has been. So I haven't posted in a week or so, and things have changed in our growing Bubby. The Marathon feedings at night have changed from a three hour feeding to a three hour fight. Instead of eating as much as he did now he fights, and screams because he's totally overloaded from all of the information and things he's learned throughout the day because he is more aware of his surroundings. He hasn't learned how to fall asleep on his own, so we've gone from feeding to sleep to rocking to sleep. We have now joined the ranks of parenthood that have to walk the floors to calm him down. But really all in all he is still better than most babies. Last night he fell asleep at 10 and didn't wake again until 3:30! I will continue to count my blessings that I am getting so much sleep. The sleeping pix I took last week, and the wakeful ones we took this morning. Enjoy!

Our Little Giant

We have been so impressed with our little boy and how strong he is! Only a day or two out of the womb he began lifting his head ever so slightly on his own. Since then he has gotten to the point where he can lift it straight up and look from side to side for a few seconds! We just get a kick out of it (as you will be able to tell by our enthusiastic commentary).

Baby's First Bath!

We have found that our little James doesn't react well to being uncovered. He is much more content when he is safely and warmly wrapped up tight. So we figured that his first bath would be a royal wrestling match. We were surprised to find him somewhat more cooperative than we expected. Still, there was enough crying that we thought we'd spare all of you those details. However, once we had him wrapped back up and went to finish the bath by washing his hair, he calmed right down and took it in stride. :) We are proud of his bravery in the face of certain bath! Way to go James!

Our New Addition

We are pleased to announce that our bouncing baby boy has arrived special delivery! I was awoken at 1 a.m. June 16th to a soft "Cory, I'm having contractions." The contractions went from five minutes apart to three in a matter of fifeteen minutes and, despite my discombobulated efforts to get our things together quickly we still managed to make it to the delivery room by 1:30 a.m. Kayla was a tough cookie and bore her contractions for an hour and a half until we were told we could stay and the epideral was administered. Kayla began pushing at 9 a.m. and at 10:03 our little baby (who isn't quite so little) was born weighing in at 9 lbs 2 oz, 21.5 inches long. He has been calm, healthy, and happy and is sweetly sleeping.

Nine months pregnant

This was two days ago. I'm sporting my awesome new summer reading shirt from the library which I will be swimming in size wise in hopefully no more than two weeks. I am getting bigger and carrying a little lower than before. But not much. Anyway, hope you enjoy this ridiculous documentation.

St. George Trip..on the road

We have successfully made it to St. George with our baby safely where he is supposed to be. :) We got an extra upgrade in our car rental, we think by accident, but are enjoying the extra space. Kayla is also rejoicing in the effectiveness of a brand new car's air conditioning. Our hotel is sunny and nice, the palm trees remind Cory of his happy days in San Diego, and as soon as Kayla goes back for her second round at the complimentary breakfeast in a few minutes we will be off to the St. George temple. Hope all is well in the family. More updates from the trip soon.

34 weeks along only 6 more to go!

So for all those that haven't heard yet, our doctor's apt went well this week. And we have been green lighted for the trip to St. George this weekend. We are going to shoot my friend Irene's wedding. It is going to be hot and tiring but fun. We are both excited and glad we can go. I would be very sad to have to tell Irene to find another photographer by Saturday. Anyway here's the updated pix. I still look like a basketball, but am steadily growing more and more, but suprising haven't passed the averages yet. I'm still right on track. I have started having subtle cravings for ice cream and last night Arby's but nothing so intense Cory has to get out of bed in the middle of the night for. Hope you all have a great week. :D

Sorry once again that my blogging is so sporatic. This is Cory putting together the crib on a sunday night after all the family left two weeks ago. He was just so excited to put it together. It didn't take him long, and now it looks just great. Thank you to my parents for letting us have the crib, a huge expense we don't have to incur now, and it will work out fabulously. It looks a little cramped in the pix, and it is a little, but not as bad as that first night. Because we've moved stuff around since then. We have almost everything now, and just have six weeks to wait for baby to come. :D

I know I'm crazy because I go forever without posting and then I post like three times. I just think it looks better to have three small posts than one really long and insane one. Anyway, on request of the family here is the updated growing me. I have been meaning to update the belly pix, but we just haven't had time with finals and graduation this week. But I thought with our little time in the afternoon today I would hurry and post. So here I am in all my pregnant glory.
I really don't feel as big as I look, at least all the time. There are a few moments when I really feel huge, but mostly I don't feel much bigger than the last pic we took, but cory claims I've grown, and the pix do look like it too. Enjoy.

Fun surprise hand-me down gift

So this really adorable little bouncy seat just came from one of our friends in the ward. They are moving in a couple of weeks, and are trying to downsize a little, and thought we could use it. I'm so grateful cause we thought of buying one, but kept putting it off. Now we have a really cute one for free. The bear is the one we bought at Build-A-Bear for our soon to be baby a month or so ago. The little bouncy seat just looked so empty, so I had to let the bear try it out. :D

My Push Present

So ever since we got pregnant I've been on the lookout for a good rocking chair. Used, cheap, sturdy; all things I was looking for. I had a friend that bought hers at Shopko, and it's a mix between a recliner and a rocking chair. She swears by it. So I was also keeping an eye on it for a sale. And a few weeks ago there was a great sale on it, and it was over half off. So we went to buy it and the box was huge. We definetly couldn't fit it in our car. We weren't sure what we were going to do, but then Cory started calling around the ward to our friends with SUVs and one of them very generously offered to go with Cory to pick it up. I had to go to a bridal shower that night, so I was gone, and when I came back there was my beautiful chair :D
Cory being the silly boy he is has coined it my "push" present. His gift to me for carrying our baby and 'pushing' him out. Anyway, here's a pic of that.

The end of the sixth month!

Hey all, so we are coming up on the end of our sixth month. I have a doctor's apointment this week so it is again time to update the family on how i'm looking. And since I wore one of my new/used maturnity shirts to church today I thought it would be a good time to show off my belly. Maturnity shirts definetly make me look bigger than the days I wear slumpy old t-shirts, but you might as well see me at my biggest :D
The fun thing about being a photo major I have all this equipment to take all my pix myself. So they are a little better than last months, and this time no Cory to even hit the button. I have a remote and set it all up on my tri-pod. I'm so talented, jk. So if my face is funny it is because I had no one to smile at but myself and my silliness. The last one I was attempting for a mugshot. Enjoy :D

Freecycle

So this is by request of my sister to share the beauties of freecycle. This is a dresser we got off of freecycle that all the baby clothes and things are going to go in. It was pretty dirty when we got it, but now it is as good as new. It was a funny sight to get it in our little car and home. But Cory was willing to put up with my insanity and now we have a free dresser. We are still considering painting it, but it may be awhile since life has just gotten really busy.

This year a lot of things are going to be changing for Cory and I. I am graduating in April, finally ... with a BA in Visual Arts with an emphasis in Photography. Then in June we will welcome a little bundle of Joy into our family. So this semester as well as both of us working and being in school will be spent preparing to be parents and all that goes with it. It truly will be a wonderful year.
