Father and Son

Upon popular demand we also wanted to post this comparison of James and Cory. Looks like he's a chip off the ol' block in a lot of ways. :) He also has his mother's nose, but we unfortunately don't have a photo of her handy. Maybe we can get one and post it later. :)

Auditions

We have really been entertained by the variety of shapes and expressions our little boy manages to get his face into when he is either sleeping or awake and curious. Who knows, maybe he'll take up acting someday. :) videoP.S. sorry about it being sideways...I haven't figured out how to flip the vertical ones yet. :)

Our Little Giant

We have been so impressed with our little boy and how strong he is! Only a day or two out of the womb he began lifting his head ever so slightly on his own. Since then he has gotten to the point where he can lift it straight up and look from side to side for a few seconds! We just get a kick out of it (as you will be able to tell by our enthusiastic commentary). video

Baby's First Bath!

We have found that our little James doesn't react well to being uncovered. He is much more content when he is safely and warmly wrapped up tight. So we figured that his first bath would be a royal wrestling match. We were surprised to find him somewhat more cooperative than we expected. Still, there was enough crying that we thought we'd spare all of you those details. However, once we had him wrapped back up and went to finish the bath by washing his hair, he calmed right down and took it in stride. :) We are proud of his bravery in the face of certain bath! Way to go James! video

Meet James In Person!

Here is a little video clip from mommy's view. :) Hope you enjoy! video

Going Home!

Here is our little boy is off on his first big adventure out into the new world! He is all dressed up in his going home outfit and ready to go exploring!

Day 2 and 3

Here is our little guy on days two and three. His face has lost most of its swelling and he has been eating like crazy! Kayla is recovering wonderfully and is being an awesome mom.

Our New Addition

We are pleased to announce that our bouncing baby boy has arrived special delivery! I was awoken at 1 a.m. June 16th to a soft "Cory, I'm having contractions." The contractions went from five minutes apart to three in a matter of fifeteen minutes and, despite my discombobulated efforts to get our things together quickly we still managed to make it to the delivery room by 1:30 a.m. Kayla was a tough cookie and bore her contractions for an hour and a half until we were told we could stay and the epideral was administered. Kayla began pushing at 9 a.m. and at 10:03 our little baby (who isn't quite so little) was born weighing in at 9 lbs 2 oz, 21.5 inches long. He has been calm, healthy, and happy and is sweetly sleeping.

Nine months pregnant

This was two days ago. I'm sporting my awesome new summer reading shirt from the library which I will be swimming in size wise in hopefully no more than two weeks. I am getting bigger and carrying a little lower than before. But not much. Anyway, hope you enjoy this ridiculous documentation.

:D Proof I got the degree in photography, not Cory ;D

I just thought I would share how I look hauling my camera and my baby around. This was a little over a week ago when the Enrichment Committee and Relief Society went on a nature/camera walk. :D Too many mosquitoes to make it much fun unfortunately.

Eight Months

Just as a fun pix, and comparison. Cory took this picture of me a whole month ago at Irene's wedding. Good documentation of the fact that even at eight months pregnant I didn't slow down much. :D
